Site Updates

Today there have been some small changes made to the site.

  • More navigation control
    • You can now set the title of the navigation tab for your pages to be different than your primary title. For example, if your primary title is "Mike's Tony Parker PC", you wouldn't want that to be in the navigation bar. Now you can set the navigation link to be something such as "TP9 PC". Please keep in mind the navigation menu title is now limited to just 15 characters.
    • You can now rename the default "Home" navigation tab to be something else if you'd like.
    • You can now set the "sort order" on your navigation menu so that you can decide which items go in which order on your nav bar.
  • Default page setting
    • You can now change any page to be your "Default" page. The default page is the page that members will see if they visit your primary collector page link.

In another quick update, the main site's search will now search through all trade lists as well.

What a busy last few days it's been! There have been a LOT of changes over the last 48 hours. I'll try to unpack the major changes here.

  • More simple edit/create form
    • This came as a suggestion via one of our members who mentioned that parts of the form to add a new page were a little confusing, so things have been split off to be more clear.
      • First, the main form now only allows you to edit the page title, description, and style.
      • When you create a new page, the navigation title will default to "Home" if it's your first page and "Page 1", "Page 2", etc on subsequent page additions.
      • There is a new sub-nav option to "Edit this tab", which will give you options to rename the tab and adjust the sort order.
      • In order to adjust where each of your extra blocks (stats, sharing, etc) will go, there is now a cog icon in the upper right hand corner of each block. Click that cog to change the settings for that.
  • No more "default" pages
    • To make this a little easier, your "default" page is now just the first page that appears in your navigation, which can be changed by adjusting your navigation menu sort orders.
    • In addition, the "default" page link has been removed. It will still work if you've shared that link on other sites, but it will only redirect to the actual content page now.
  • Better code handling
    • I've made quite a few changes to the way page code is converted. I've tried my best to make it a lot more like the forum BBCode that you'd be used to on most forums.
      • You can now easily add YouTube videos, and other media, to your pages.
      • URLs that you add to your pages are now auto-converted to clickable links.
  • New preview option
    • Again, something you should be familiar with on forum posts, you'll now have the ability to preview your pages before you save them to make sure everything looks like you want it to.
